ROBERTSDALE, Alabama – April 24, 2018 – The Baldwin County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) is pleased to announce the endorsement of five candidates in the June 5 primary: James “Jeb” Ball for County Commissioner, District 1; Joe Davis III for County Commissioner, District 2; Tucker Dorsey for County Commissioner, District 3; Charles “Skip” Gruber for County Commissioner, District 4; and Jody Wise Campbell for Circuit Clerk.
BCAR represents over 2,000 REALTORS® across Baldwin and Mobile counties, and advocates for homeownership, private property rights, and vibrant communities. BCAR supports candidates who share the vision of the association.
"BCAR has evaluated the candidates based on voting records, candidate questionnaire responses, and our candidate forum,” said Jennifer Foutch, BCAR’s Government Affairs Director. “We are pleased to be able to endorse candidates that share the vision of the association. Our REALTORS® are active members of the community and we promote engagement with local government."
BCAR’s endorsement comes after the association’s Government and Political Affairs Committee hosted a Candidate Forum during its bimonthly Bagels and Briefs program. Candidates for all county commission districts, circuit clerk, and probate judge attended. Each county commission candidate was asked specific questions relating to their district, including sewage and water run-off, the Orange Beach residential rental ordinance, bringing in tenants to the Mega Site in North Baldwin, managing infrastructure and growth within the county, and the candidates views on the 1-mil tax renewal for Baldwin County Public Schools that went before voters on the December 2017 special election ballot.
BCAR has expanded its government relations outreach during the past year.
“REALTORS® care about communities and candidates who support private property rights,” said Sheila Dodson, CEO of BCAR. “This is just another platform to show the involvement of REALTORS® in their community.”
