Kristen Meador receives national Graduate, REALTORŪ Institute designation

Friday, September 28, 2018

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama – September 26, 2018 – The Baldwin County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) and the Alabama Association of REALTORS® (AAR) is pleased to announce that one of its members, Kristen Meador, recently completed the final course of the Alabama REALTOR® Institute. Meador is a REALTOR® with Bellator Real Estate and Development in Spanish Fort.

By successfully completing all REALTOR® Institute courses, a student is awarded the nationally recognized Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation.

With 60 hours of real estate instruction, including such topics as Working with Buyers, Working with Sellers, Professionalism, Accountability & Development, Real Estate Contracts, and Real Estate Technology, the designation is awarded exclusively to REALTORS®. Less than 15% of all members of the REALTOR® organization attain this designation.

“I made a commitment very early to get three specific designations because of my personal goals in development and my desire to be a professional in this industry,” Meador said. “It has been three years since I officially started in real estate, and I had been told that it was a designation that was good to accomplish by your third year.”

Meador said completing this designation has prepared her more as a Realtor® to give her clients and customers the best service.

“I wish that I had done it sooner, honestly, because it is such a good base for anyone entering the profession,” she said. “Each class went beyond the basics you receive in your license class and even your office training, but still does not give you more information than you can digest.”

“BCAR supports professionalism in their members,” said Sheila Dodson, CEO of BCAR, “and programs such as GRI is an excellent foundation.”

The Alabama GRI program is offered throughout the state by the Alabama Association of REALTORS® and is approved and certified by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, the nation’s largest trade organization, with a membership of some 800,000.
